WHAT IS IT ALL ABOUT?
Are you ready for Hay Motorkhana Championship 2026?
Here's your opportunity to gain some practice and ensure that your Mini, MINI or Moke (or any other vehicle you can get your hands on) are prepared for Hay, and that you are prepared to drive it!
Even if you are not planning to attend the Hay Mini Nationals in NSW on the Kings Birthday weekend in June, you are welcome to come along and check out what it is all about - who knows, you may change your mind once you arrive and become hooked to it like the dozens of other VMCI members who make the trip each year.
This is a pure Practice and Come & Try day, meaning that it will be non-competitive, with a friendly and helpful social feel. It's all about getting people involved and working as a team to have the Victorian Mini Club performing as well as possible when we battle against the other states in our friendly competition.
The Hay Standard Tests will be laid out for you to refamiliarise yourself with, and you're welcome to repeat and have another try as many times as you want.
If you know anyone who has never been to a Motorkhana before, you're also welcome to bring them along. If they aren't a VMCI member, we will be able to provide them with a day membership and a single event Motorsport Australia licence so that they too can have a go.
The Minimum age is 12, and in the controlled event this may be the perfect time to get your Juniors out and about and start to show them a little about car control. Who knows, they may be faster than you without you even knowing, and since entries for Hay don't close until after this Practice day you may decide to have them make you proud interstate too!!!
As mentioned earlier, Motorsport Australia Single Event competition licenses are available on the day, as well as one-day VMCI memberships for non-members.
Afterwards, if you wish to service or repair your Mini in preparation for Hay, the club 'Resto Day' will be on the 31st of May at the Holloway Mansion in Taylors lakes. All you will need to bring is any consumables you might need. See MiniMag for details on that one.
